Inspection Supervisor
Summary/Objective:
Riverbend Energetics is looking for an Inspection Supervisor that will ensure that all raw materials, in-process components, and finished products meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of inspection processes, and experience in hazardous or regulated manufacturing sectors.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily inspection operations for incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and final products.
- Lead a team of inspectors and technicians; assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ISO 9001, DoD MIL-STDs, ATF regulations, and DOT shipping requirements.
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, sampling procedures, and quality control documentation.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze inspection data and prepare reports for management and regulatory audits.
- Maintain calibration and verification of inspection tools and equipment.
- Promote and enforce strict adherence to EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) protocols, especially those related to handling energetic materials.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- 3+ years of quality control/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving hazardous or energetic materials.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques (visual, dimensional, NDT, etc.) and statistical quality control methods.
- Proficient with quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
- Comfortable working in a controlled, high-risk environment with strict compliance protocols.
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in the energetics industry (e.g., explosives, propellants, pyrotechnics).
- Knowledge of federal and military specifications (MIL-STD, DoD requirements).
- Certification in quality inspection or auditing (e.g., ASQ CQT, CQI)
